Elektra (Hazel Ross and Lizz Lipscombe) are to be performing as part of the Mike Smith Big Band AND as special guest act ‘Elektra’ on this wonderful evening!
Music fans are being urged to act quickly if they want to see the Mike Smith Big Band in concert at Melksham Assembly Hall.
The popular event which has been running for several decades has entertained hundreds of people, but organiser Dennis Overton has announced that this will be the last concert with Mike Smith leading the band.
Dennis said, “This will be the last concert with Mike at centre stage which is a shame, but I do know that one of the other musicians is taking over.
“It’s a fantastic evening of music and I’d love it to be a sell-out show, it would make my day.
“The band are brilliant and play everything from Frank Sinatra and Abba to Whitney Houston and The Beatles.
“If you’ve been before you know what to expect but if you haven’t, then I would hugely recommend it. It’s a great night of music and dancing for everyone.
“Plus all the money from the evening goes to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance. Over the years we’ve raised thousands of pounds for them, they do a tremendous job, so it’s important to support them.
“I love big band music and always have. The Mike Smith Big Band is one of the best around, so it’s a real treat for Melksham to have them visit.”
The concert will take place on 16th April at Melksham Assembly Hall, 8pm-late. Tickets cost £17/£18 (£18 for the front few rows). Call Dennis for more information and tickets 01225 754 337 or Melksham Assembly Hall 01225 709887.
